Nalvinai Trust, in association with ARAM IAS Academy, Chennai, organised a Competitive Examination Awareness cum Orientation Programme to introduce students to career opportunities in Civil Services and Government sectors, and to build the confidence and discipline needed to pursue competitive examinations like UPSC and TNPSC.

The programme featured a presidential address by Yathiswari Neelakandapriya, a welcome from Principal Dr. N. Kamala, and remarks by Managing Trustee Dr. A.S. Balaamani on the Trust's commitment to youth empowerment through education and career guidance.

Chief Guest Ms. Krithika M. (AIR 184, UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025) shared her preparation journey with students in an online session, followed by a detailed orientation session by Mr. Muthukumar (ARAM IAS Academy) covering exam structure, eligibility, preparation strategy, and interview skills.

To mark International Yoga Day, Nalvinai Trust's Managing Trustee conducted a practical yoga session for EPFO Tirunelveli officers and staff, covering simple yoga postures, Pranayama (breathing exercises), and relaxation techniques for daily practice.

The session, which followed a welcome address by Mr. Ganesan and a special address by the Regional PF Commissioner-I, focused on improving flexibility, concentration, and stress reduction โ€” reinforcing yoga as a holistic practice for physical, mental, and emotional well-being in the workplace.

Orientation for Teachers: Handling Adolescent School Students

A teacher training orientation designed to help educators recognize and respond to the emotional and behavioural needs of adolescent students. The programme covered:

  • Understanding adolescent brain development and why emotional responses often outpace decision-making skills.
  • Recognizing common classroom behaviours (withdrawal, rule-testing, over-sensitivity) and academic stress signals.
  • Identifying emotional and mental health red flags, including self-harm indicators.
  • Practical guidance on being a "safe adult" for students โ€” approachable listening, confidentiality, and validation.
  • Classroom do's and don'ts, and techniques for de-escalating anger and discipline issues.
  • When and how to involve parents or refer a student to a counselor.
  • Interactive case studies and role-play exercises on empathetic teacher-student communication.

Donation of Water Purifier to Government Middle School

As part of the Trust's commitment to health and well-being among schoolchildren, a water purifier (SS unit) was donated and installed at a central location within the school premises. With over 275 children enrolled, the initiative directly addressed the need for safe, clean drinking water in a rural school setting โ€” reducing the risk of waterborne illness and supporting healthy hydration habits.

The donation was welcomed at a ceremony attended by the headmistress, teaching staff, Parent-Teacher Association representatives, and local community members, with the school committing to regular maintenance of the unit. Around 275+ children benefit from this donation on an ongoing basis.

To support the physical, social, and cognitive development of young children, Nalvinai Trust donated play and learning materials to a government primary school in Assam. The materials were received with enthusiasm by students, and the school pledged to maintain them for continued use.

The handover event was attended by Regional Provident Fund Commissioners Shri Nikeel Chandra Anil Zode, Shri S. Sivashanmugam, and Shri Gaurav Srivastav, along with Assistant Professor Smt. Deepika Kulshrestha. Managing Trustee Dr. A.S. Balaamani, along with School Coordinator Shri Madhab Das and Shri Gaurav Srivastav (EPFO), spoke on the importance of play in child development.

The programme will be implemented entirely under Nalvinai Trust's community-welfare mandate, at no cost to the Corporation, schools, or students, with the Trust providing qualified resource persons and a closure report upon completion.
